What is Distance Learning?
Distance Learning – which is also called Online
Learning - is one of the most convenient ways of studying today.
If you
study by
distance, you save yourself the time and hassle of travelling
long distances to get to college to attend classes. With
distance learning – the classes come to you.
What do I need?
If you are a distance
learning student, you need to be able to send and receive emails,
and you also need access to a computer
to be able to check out some websites, do some research and
type your responses.
How does it work?
When you enrol on any of our distance learning
courses, we send you the first module of the course by email. You
return your answers
the same way.
Who are my tutors?
If you study in college, you must share your
teacher with the other pupils. Not so with distance learning. You
have your own, personal
tutor, an experienced industry professional, who grades your
modules and offers advice and guidance every step of the way.
It is one-to-one mentoring.
Will it suit my lifestyle?
Distance learning suits many different kinds
of people: people who work unsociable hours, people who travel
a lot, parents of
young children. Distance learning also suits busy people who
want to study late at night, on Sunday afternoons, early in
the morning before they go to work – whenever!
Why is it called distance learning?
This is one of the great mysteries
of the universe!! You enrol for the course online. If you buy
a core text, it is
posted to
you. All of your modules are delivered to your inbox. You send
your responses without leaving the comfort of your armchair.
When you complete the course, your Certificate or Diploma is
posted to you, but it is called distance learning….
