Ireland’s newest freesheet newspaper the Tipp Echo, was launched in August 2023. Its very existence is a vote of confidence in the future of the local community in Clonmel, as well as a belief in the power of local advertising support. It is also a credit to the vision, passion, commitment and serious financial investment by the owner and editor Jamie O’Flaherty.
Jamie is a double honours graduate of the Irish Academy of Public Relations, in Print Journalism and Radio Presenting.
In an era of digital media, online news access, declining advertising revenues and reducing print runs, it is wonderful to see a rural community bucking the trend.
